The company was established in 1973 under the name KTK and began producing the first thyristor DC drives for industrial applications. In 1985, KTK changed its name to Control Techniques and in its first year of operation introduced the Commander digital AC drives and the world's first Mentor digital DC drives. Since then, Control Techniques' position in the global market has steadily strengthened, and the company has expanded its range of offered devices. In 1992, a full range of products for industrial automation applications was launched, and in 1995, the world's first universal AC drive called Unidrive was introduced. Since Control Techniques became part of Emerson Electric Co. in 1995, 45 Drive Centers have been established worldwide. The company has always allocated significant financial resources to product research and development. There is a strong commitment to designing increasingly innovative industrial automation solutions. With manufacturing, engineering, and design centers around the world, Control Techniques' main goal is to create innovative AC, DC, and Servo devices for applications in industrial applications and production processes, as well as high-performance power conversion systems for applications utilizing renewable energy sources.
